Novo Aeon
by Philip JandovskýThis is a CD reissue of Novo Aeon, which was originally released in 1976 at the height of Raul Seixas' career as a natural follow-up to the classic Gîtâ. The most famous track of the album is the very Raul-esque rock ballad "Tente Outra Vez," with its characteristic "epic" approach. The pulsating and overly romantic "Tu És O MDC da Minha Vida" is also one of the best songs that Seixas recorded. The music on the rest of the album includes gentle falsetto tunes ("A Maçã" and "Sunseed"), '50s-inspired rock ("Eu Sou Egoista" and "Rock do Diabo"), eccentric exhibitions in thoughtful quirkiness ("Caminhos" and "Peixuxa"), and even forro ("É Fim de Mês"), all performed in Raul Seixas' own very personal style.
