Slick Trax
by Andy HindsThis 2002 re-release of select cuts from Earl Slick's mid-'70s catalog is a good showcase for Slick's tasteful, straightforward rock guitar style. The material is clearly a souvenir of its time, sounding like a cross between Montrose and Lynyrd Skynyrd, but the songs are well written and well played by Slick and his band (featuring singer Jimmy Mack). Includes rare demo versions of "Very Blue" and "Do It."
