About Jodi Light: Born in Lima, Ohio, Jodi has been performing since the age of two. Jodis big break came at the tender age of five, when she landed a guest spot on the Mike Douglas Show. Followed by an array of other national guest appearances, she next began a television career at WHIO-TV out of Dayton, Ohio as a weekly feature on a late night talk show where she worked with many guest stars such as Vincent Price, Desi Arnez Jr., and Sally Fields to name a few. At the age of eight, Jodi was given her own T.V. show "Jodis World" which won several emmys and enjoyed a sucessful eight year run. At age 17, Jodi attended the Fred Waring Workshop at Penn State University and was shortly thereafter chosen to become one of the famed Fred Waring "Young Pennsylvanians". She toured with the Waring group for two years playing in Americas finest theatres to an average crowd of 3000. She also appeared with the Waring group on the syndicated televised special "Parade of Stars" taped at the Palace Theatre in New York where she had the honor of meeting and working with such greats as George Burns and Milton Berle. She then moved to Phoenix, AZ at age 20 to further her musical education at ASU , and began performing in jazz and dance clubs there. For the next ten years Jodi sang, danced and entertained thousands of people all over the world including engagements in Singapore at the famed "Scorpion Club", in the Cayman Islands at "Ramadas Treasure Island Resort", at the "Luxor" in Las Vegas, "Trump Castle" in Atlantic City, "Caesars" in Lake Tahoe and "Richards on Richards" in Vancouver, B.C. among others. Jodi also opened up for many famous acts to cheering crowds of up to 30,000 for such names as Lee Greenwood, Spyro Gyra, The Letterman and The Righteous Brothers. Jodis achievements include a successful nine month engagement at the internationally famed Regent Hotel Hong Kong, named "the number one hotel in the world" by the leading tourist and travel association. She recorded several dance singles while in Hong Kong, which were featured on "E" television. Her studio / vocal efforts appeared on a double-CD Dance Compilation released all over Asia and Europe in July 1996 of which she sang two songs, both of which were released as single cuts. Back in Phoenix, Jodi is the vocal talent for Phoenix 11 and News Channel 3 singing on "Three TV...the place with more stuff", "Phoenix 11...good for you" ,"Home with Terri O", "Fran & Frasier", "Caroline in the City & Frasier",Channel 3s award winning Christmas Spot and "We Can All Do Something Good" charity campaign. Jodi also sings the Frys jingle "Count on Us" in English and Spanish, as well as many other commercials regionally. Jodis band Shining Star, along with Jodi, has performed with Joni Sledge of "Sister Sledge" in concerts around the country, including an appearance at the Democratic National Convention in August 2000 for the President and White House Staff. Jodi has also been seen performing the National Anthem at America West Arena for Phoenix Suns and Rattlers games, as well as pre-game and half time entertainment.
