The traditional flute and percussion music of Peru is reflected through the music of Ah-Kin. The high-pitched tones of Gabriela Sanchezs vocals are set to the melodies of Arturo Garcia Otoreo (samponas, sea shells, silver flutes, quenas and clay drums) and Cesar Regina (quenas, shakers and clay drums). Performing on hand-made traditional instruments, the group, which takes its name from the Mayan word meaning "men of the Sun", faithfully resurrects the sounds of ancient Peru。
