Shout to the Lord

From the multi-culti Hosanna! Music line, whose mission is to capture praise and worship tunes from around the world, comes the energetically soulful Shout to the Lord with Hillsongs from Australia, led by vivacious worship director Darlene Zzchech. The live setting at the Hills Christian Life Centre in Sydney encourages spontaneity and fervency and the whole congregation gets in on the act. At the front of the sound are spiritually and vocally fit individual singers, the Centre's choir, and an enthused band of holy rock & rollers who cut loose with muscular rock beats and wailing horns and go for subtlety with gently arranged hymns of servitude. It's clear here why Hillsongs reign triumphant in Christian music and that this is largely so because Zzchech makes much of her charismatic gifts. ~Paige La Grone
