He is weary of the microcosm of smart concert halls where his art it useless, fossilized. He realizes that music does not have to vegetate in its own wold, out of step with reality, since it draws its forces from life itself; its mission is not to anaesthetize or tranquilize, but to bring souls to life as only something living can do.
