Dr. Hook Live
by Richard FossThere is unfortunately nothing unusual about record companies releasing inferior material after an artist has departed the fold for another label (hey, it's a last chance to make money, and who cares about the artists now anyway?). Dr. Hook Live is solidly within that tradition, a badly recorded album of the band slogging through their old material and slaving everything to a disco beat. Ray Sawyer sounds tired and bored and the rest of the band plays their hits like a jukebox. No matter how much you like the band, you don't need this album.
