Boss Tenors In Orbit is one of their best, with the two saxophonists trading phrases, boppish ideas and witty thoughts on such jam session tunes as "Walkin'," "John Brown's Body" (which is really "Battle Hymn Of The Republic") and "Bye Bye Blackbird." Don Patterson shows why he was considered Stitt's favorite organist and the rhythm section keeps the music swinging. As was usually the case, Ammons and Stitt battle each other to a tie in heated and exciting fashion. A gem.
