Mozart: Serenades & Divertimenti for Wind
Heart's content! September 19, 2002 I place the Gran Partita, K. 361, as Top Ten Mozart, and it's played with such joy here, I was almost taken aback. I have three other versions, and this one just may be my favorite. One version is all shadows, which is cool, but oh! the joy in the present version. K. 375 and K. 388 are played perfectly too. The good thing about this set is they have a lot of hard-to-find pieces for wind. To me, Mozart was unparalled at wind writing. The textures! The tones! It's too good to be true. Hooray!
