Poison (Acoustic)
More than a year after the success achieved with her latest single “I Will Never Let You Down” and after releasing “Grateful” featured on “Beyond the Lights” movie soundtrack, It seems British singer-songwriter Rita Ora has finally ready her long-long-long-awaited new single. The previously announced “Get a Little Closer” and later the Diplo-produced track “Testosterone” were finally scrapped and the new official single is called “Poison“. The song serves as the second official single taken from her highly-delayed second studio album, scheduled to be released later this year via Roca Nation. During the promotion of “New York Raining“, her collaboration with American rising star Charles Hamilton, featured on FOX’s hit series “Empire“, the singer confirmed that her new single will be released on May 11 (UK and Europe) and in the summer (In the States), but in the end nothing happened. Ora finally confirmed that the new single will be premiered on May 18th, unfortunately the song surfaced online on May 14th. The singer also collaborated on the upcoming Broadway Musical’s sountrack album “Finding Neverland” in the song “Are We Gonna Play?“ with the collaboration of Sage The Gemini. “Poison” is a slow-pop jam, an attempt to repeat the success of her latest hit “I Will Never Let You Down” with a watered down and less catchy version, but that may end up being another grower. Unfortunately, the song doesn’t have the effectiveness and the magic touch of Calvin Harris. We all know why.
