[00:26.32]Five score years ago, [00:31.79]a great American, [00:32.59]in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, [00:38.22]signed the Emancipation Proclamation. [00:44.04]This momentous decree came as [00:48.10]a great beacon light of hope [00:50.20]to millions of Negro slaves [00:53.78]who had been seared [00:55.01]in the flames of withering injustice. [01:00.29]It came as a joyous daybreak [01:04.50]to end the long night of their captivity. [01:10.52]But one hundred years later, [01:15.47]the Negro still is not free. [01:21.52]One hundred years later, [01:25.09]the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled [01:28.16]by the manacles of segregation [01:32.40]and the chains of discrimination. [01:35.75]One hundred years later, [01:39.13]the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty [01:43.97]in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. [01:48.65]One hundred years later, [01:55.16]the Negro is still languished [01:57.11]in the corners of American society [02:01.10]and finds himself an exile in his own land. [02:06.02]And so we've come here today [02:09.31]to dramatize a shameful condition. [02:13.55]In a sense we've come to our nation's capital [02:16.45]to cash a check. [02:20.30]When the architects of our republic [02:24.20]wrote the magnificent words of [02:26.03]the Constitution and [02:27.50]the Declaration of Independence, [02:31.09]they were signing a promissory note [02:35.32]to which every American was to fall heir. [02:39.84]This note was a promise that all men, [02:43.71]yes, black men as well as white men, [02:48.16]would be guaranteed the Rights [02:51.48]of Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. [02:57.31]It is obvious today that [03:00.30]America has defaulted on this promissory note, [03:04.17]insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. [03:09.83]Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, [03:15.25]America has given the Negro people a bad check, [03:19.78]a check which has come back [03:21.32]marked funds. [03:35.91]But we refuse to believe that [03:38.08]the bank of justice is bankrupt. [03:43.87]We refuse to believe that [03:45.43]there are insufficient funds [03:47.06]in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. [03:51.10]And so, we've come to cash this check, [03:53.38]a check that will give us upon demand [03:55.55]the riches of freedom [03:57.87]and the security of justice. [04:09.89]We have also come to this hallowed spot [04:14.77]to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. [04:20.95]This is no time [04:23.80]to engage in the luxury of cooling off or [04:26.87]to take the tranquilizing dr*g of gradualism. [04:36.10]Now is the time [04:38.78]to make real the promises of democracy. [04:42.74]Now is the time [04:45.22]to rise from the dark [04:46.77]and desolate valley of segregation [04:49.30]to the sunlit path of racial justice. [04:52.25]Now is the time [04:57.68]to lift our nation [04:58.82]from the quicksands of racial injustice [05:01.42]to the solid rock of brotherhood. [05:03.74]Now is the time [05:08.40]to make justice a reality [05:09.98]for all of God's children. [05:13.08]It would be fatal for the nation [05:16.38]to overlook the urgency of the moment. [05:20.71]This sweltering summer [05:22.04]of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass [05:27.41]until there is an invigorating autumn [05:30.01]of freedom and equality. [05:32.98]Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, [05:35.79]but a beginning. [05:37.81]And those who hope that [05:39.43]the Negro needed to blow off steam [05:43.14]and will now be content [05:45.65]will have a rude awakening [05:47.36]if the nation returns to business as usual. [06:04.99]And there will be [06:05.96]neither rest nor tranquility in America [06:10.03]until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. [06:14.08]The whirlwinds of revolt [06:16.03]will continue to shake the foundations of our nation [06:19.56]until the bright day of justice emerges. [06:24.58]But there is something [06:25.53]that I must say to my people, [06:28.76]who stand on the warm threshold [06:31.03]which leads into the palace of justice: [06:35.68]In the process of gaining our rightful place, [06:40.10]we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. [06:44.97]Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom [06:49.23]by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. [07:01.66]We must forever conduct our struggle [07:03.78]on the high plane of dignity and discipline. [07:07.82]We must not allow our creative protest [07:11.79]to degenerate into physical violence. [07:14.88]Again and again, [07:17.23]we must rise to the majestic heights [07:20.63]of meeting physical force with soul force. [07:24.52]The marvelous new militancy [07:27.40]which has engulfed the Negro community [07:30.90]must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, [07:34.71]for many of our white brothers, [07:36.36]as evidenced by their presence here today, [07:39.39]have come to realize [07:40.48]that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. [07:53.26]And they have come to realize [07:54.91]that their freedom is inextricably bound to [07:57.79]our freedom. [07:59.47]We cannot walk alone. [08:02.91]And as we walk, [08:05.40]we must make the pledge [08:06.85]that we shall always march ahead. [08:11.61]We cannot turn back. [08:14.58]There are those [08:15.39]who are asking the devotees of civil rights, [08:19.44]will you be satisfied? [08:22.88]We can never be satisfied [08:24.50]as long as the Negro is the victim of [08:27.01]the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. [08:31.70]We can never be satisfied [08:35.20]as long as our bodies, [08:36.13]heavy with the fatigue of travel, [08:39.93]cannot gain lodging in the motels of [08:42.40]the highways and the hotels of the cities. [09:16.76]We cannot be satisfied [09:17.64]as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote [09:21.61]and a Negro in New York believes [09:23.88]he has nothing for which to vote. [09:33.88]No, no, we are not satisfied, [09:37.88]and we will not be satisfied until [09:40.32]rolls down like waters, [09:43.29]and righteousness like a mighty stream. [09:54.93]I am not unmindful that [09:59.05]some of you have come here [10:02.50]out of great trials and tribulations. [10:07.54]Some of you have come fresh [10:08.97]from narrow jail cells. [10:12.61]And some of you have come from areas [10:14.45]where your quest [10:15.27]-- quest for freedom left you [10:18.34]battered by the storms of persecution and [10:22.15]staggered by the winds of police brutality. [10:26.54]You have been the veterans of creative suffering. [10:30.88]Continue to work with the faith [10:33.68]that unearned suffering is redemptive. [10:39.15]Go back to Mississippi, [10:41.83]go back to Alabama, [10:43.15]go back to South Carolina, [10:44.52]go back to Georgia, [10:45.88]go back to Louisiana, [10:47.64]go back to the slums and ghettos [10:50.15]of our northern cities, [10:52.80]knowing that somehow [10:54.17]this situation can and will be changed. [10:58.20]Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, [11:01.96]I say to you today, my friends. [11:15.05]And so even though [11:16.71]we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, [11:21.96]I still have a dream. [11:25.77]It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. [11:30.61]I have a dream [11:33.30]that one day this nation will rise up [11:37.88]and live out the true meaning of its creed: [11:43.23]hold these truths to be self-evident, [11:45.37]that all men are created equal. [11:58.15]I have a dream [12:01.21]that one day on the red hills of Georgia, [12:05.77]the sons of former slaves [12:07.46]and the sons of former slave owners [12:10.80]will be able to sit down together [12:13.48]at the table of brotherhood. [12:15.40]I have a dream [12:17.71]that one day even the state of Mississippi, [12:21.76]a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, [12:29.62]sweltering with the heat of oppression, [12:32.78]will be transformed into [12:34.34]an oasis of freedom and justice. [12:36.79]I have a dream [12:41.48]that my four little children [12:45.17]will one day live in a nation [12:46.90]where they will not be judged [12:48.52]by the color of their skin [12:50.06]but by the content of their character. [12:51.93]I have a dream today! [13:03.19]I have a dream that one day, [13:07.35]down in Alabama, [13:10.67]with its vicious racists, [13:13.55]with its governor having his lips [13:16.42]dripping with the words of [13:17.72]and [13:20.41]-- one day right there in Alabama [13:22.41]little black boys and black girls [13:25.02]will be able to join hands [13:26.57]with little white boys and white girls [13:28.73]as sisters and brothers. [13:29.87]I have a dream today! [13:39.38]I have a dream that one day [13:41.49]every valley shall be exalted, [13:44.44]and every hill and mountain shall be made low, [13:46.66]the rough places will be made plain, [13:48.59]and the crooked places will be made straight; [13:51.36]the glory of the Lord shall be revealed [13:53.59]and all flesh shall see it together. [13:57.03]This is our hope, [13:58.94]and this is the faith [14:00.09]that I go back to the South with. [14:02.96]With this faith, [14:04.85]we will be able to hew out of the mountain [14:07.20]of despair a stone of hope. [14:10.35]With this faith, [14:12.26]we will be able to [14:13.32]transform the jangling discords of our nation [14:15.58]into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. [14:19.69]With this faith, [14:21.34]we will be able to work together, [14:23.22]to pray together, [14:23.94]to struggle together, [14:25.21]to go to jail together, [14:27.31]to stand up for freedom together, [14:29.72]knowing that we will be free one day. [14:34.59]And this will be the day [14:37.85]-- this will be the day [14:39.02]when all of God's children [14:41.78]will be able to sing with new meaning: [14:44.42]My country [14:45.07]'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing'. [14:50.62]Land where my fathers died, [14:52.36]land of the Pilgrim's pride, [14:55.24]From every mountainside, [14:58.15]let freedom ring! [14:59.09]And if America is to be a great nation, [15:01.68]this must become true. [15:04.12]And so let freedom ring [15:06.37]from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. [15:09.51]Let freedom ring [15:11.50]from the mighty mountains of New York. [15:13.74]Let freedom ring [15:15.69]from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania. [15:17.32]Let freedom ring [15:20.17]from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado. [15:22.60]Let freedom ring [15:25.19]from the curvaceous slopes of California. [15:28.28]But not only that: [15:30.35]Let freedom ring [15:31.70]from Stone Mountain of Georgia. [15:35.14]Let freedom ring [15:36.44]from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee. [15:39.93]Let freedom ring [15:41.11]from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. [15:44.53]From every mountainside, [15:48.14]let freedom ring. [15:49.00]And when this happens, [15:53.44]when we allow freedom ring, [15:56.88]when we let it ring [15:58.22]from every village and every hamlet, [16:00.32]from every state and every city, [16:04.11]we will be able to speed up that day [16:06.95]when all of God's children, [16:09.05]black men and white men, [16:10.94]Jews and Gentiles, [16:12.65]Protestants and Catholics, [16:14.42]will be able to join hands [16:16.49]and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: [16:19.62]Free at last! [16:21.16]free at last! [16:22.51]Thank God Almighty, [16:24.01]we are free at last!

[00:00.00]90听音乐网 www.90T8.com[00:00.55]I am happy to join with you today
[00:05.92]in what will go down in history
[00:11.30]as the greatest demonstration for freedom
[00:14.53]in the history of our nation.
[00:26.32]Five score years ago,
[00:31.79]a great American,
[00:32.59]in whose symbolic shadow we stand today,
[00:38.22]signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
[00:44.04]This momentous decree came as
[00:48.10]a great beacon light of hope
[00:50.20]to millions of Negro slaves
[00:53.78]who had been seared
[00:55.01]in the flames of withering injustice.
[01:00.29]It came as a joyous daybreak
[01:04.50]to end the long night of their captivity.
[01:10.52]But one hundred years later,
[01:15.47]the Negro still is not free.
[01:21.52]One hundred years later,
[01:25.09]the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled
[01:28.16]by the manacles of segregation
[01:32.40]and the chains of discrimination.
[01:35.75]One hundred years later,
[01:39.13]the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty
[01:43.97]in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity.
[01:48.65]One hundred years later,
[01:55.16]the Negro is still languished
[01:57.11]in the corners of American society
[02:01.10]and finds himself an exile in his own land.
[02:06.02]And so we've come here today
[02:09.31]to dramatize a shameful condition.
[02:13.55]In a sense we've come to our nation's capital
[02:16.45]to cash a check.
[02:20.30]When the architects of our republic
[02:24.20]wrote the magnificent words of
[02:26.03]the Constitution and
[02:27.50]the Declaration of Independence,
[02:31.09]they were signing a promissory note
[02:35.32]to which every American was to fall heir.
[02:39.84]This note was a promise that all men,
[02:43.71]yes, black men as well as white men,
[02:48.16]would be guaranteed the Rights
[02:51.48]of Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
[02:57.31]It is obvious today that
[03:00.30]America has defaulted on this promissory note,
[03:04.17]insofar as her citizens of color are concerned.
[03:09.83]Instead of honoring this sacred obligation,
[03:15.25]America has given the Negro people a bad check,
[03:19.78]a check which has come back
[03:21.32]marked funds.
[03:35.91]But we refuse to believe that
[03:38.08]the bank of justice is bankrupt.
[03:43.87]We refuse to believe that
[03:45.43]there are insufficient funds
[03:47.06]in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.
[03:51.10]And so, we've come to cash this check,
[03:53.38]a check that will give us upon demand
[03:55.55]the riches of freedom
[03:57.87]and the security of justice.
[04:09.89]We have also come to this hallowed spot
[04:14.77]to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now.
[04:20.95]This is no time
[04:23.80]to engage in the luxury of cooling off or
[04:26.87]to take the tranquilizing dr*g of gradualism.
[04:36.10]Now is the time
[04:38.78]to make real the promises of democracy.
[04:42.74]Now is the time
[04:45.22]to rise from the dark
[04:46.77]and desolate valley of segregation
[04:49.30]to the sunlit path of racial justice.
[04:52.25]Now is the time
[04:57.68]to lift our nation
[04:58.82]from the quicksands of racial injustice
[05:01.42]to the solid rock of brotherhood.
[05:03.74]Now is the time
[05:08.40]to make justice a reality
[05:09.98]for all of God's children.
[05:13.08]It would be fatal for the nation
[05:16.38]to overlook the urgency of the moment.
[05:20.71]This sweltering summer
[05:22.04]of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass
[05:27.41]until there is an invigorating autumn
[05:30.01]of freedom and equality.
[05:32.98]Nineteen sixty-three is not an end,
[05:35.79]but a beginning.
[05:37.81]And those who hope that
[05:39.43]the Negro needed to blow off steam
[05:43.14]and will now be content
[05:45.65]will have a rude awakening
[05:47.36]if the nation returns to business as usual.
[06:04.99]And there will be
[06:05.96]neither rest nor tranquility in America
[06:10.03]until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights.
[06:14.08]The whirlwinds of revolt
[06:16.03]will continue to shake the foundations of our nation
[06:19.56]until the bright day of justice emerges.
[06:24.58]But there is something
[06:25.53]that I must say to my people,
[06:28.76]who stand on the warm threshold
[06:31.03]which leads into the palace of justice:
[06:35.68]In the process of gaining our rightful place,
[06:40.10]we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds.
[06:44.97]Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom
[06:49.23]by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
[07:01.66]We must forever conduct our struggle
[07:03.78]on the high plane of dignity and discipline.
[07:07.82]We must not allow our creative protest
[07:11.79]to degenerate into physical violence.
[07:14.88]Again and again,
[07:17.23]we must rise to the majestic heights
[07:20.63]of meeting physical force with soul force.
[07:24.52]The marvelous new militancy
[07:27.40]which has engulfed the Negro community
[07:30.90]must not lead us to a distrust of all white people,
[07:34.71]for many of our white brothers,
[07:36.36]as evidenced by their presence here today,
[07:39.39]have come to realize
[07:40.48]that their destiny is tied up with our destiny.
[07:53.26]And they have come to realize
[07:54.91]that their freedom is inextricably bound to
[07:57.79]our freedom.
[07:59.47]We cannot walk alone.
[08:02.91]And as we walk,
[08:05.40]we must make the pledge
[08:06.85]that we shall always march ahead.
[08:11.61]We cannot turn back.
[08:14.58]There are those
[08:15.39]who are asking the devotees of civil rights,
[08:19.44]will you be satisfied?
[08:22.88]We can never be satisfied
[08:24.50]as long as the Negro is the victim of
[08:27.01]the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.
[08:31.70]We can never be satisfied
[08:35.20]as long as our bodies,
[08:36.13]heavy with the fatigue of travel,
[08:39.93]cannot gain lodging in the motels of
[08:42.40]the highways and the hotels of the cities.
[09:16.76]We cannot be satisfied
[09:17.64]as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote
[09:21.61]and a Negro in New York believes
[09:23.88]he has nothing for which to vote.
[09:33.88]No, no, we are not satisfied,
[09:37.88]and we will not be satisfied until
[09:40.32]rolls down like waters,
[09:43.29]and righteousness like a mighty stream.
[09:54.93]I am not unmindful that
[09:59.05]some of you have come here
[10:02.50]out of great trials and tribulations.
[10:07.54]Some of you have come fresh
[10:08.97]from narrow jail cells.
[10:12.61]And some of you have come from areas
[10:14.45]where your quest
[10:15.27]-- quest for freedom left you
[10:18.34]battered by the storms of persecution and
[10:22.15]staggered by the winds of police brutality.
[10:26.54]You have been the veterans of creative suffering.
[10:30.88]Continue to work with the faith
[10:33.68]that unearned suffering is redemptive.
[10:39.15]Go back to Mississippi,
[10:41.83]go back to Alabama,
[10:43.15]go back to South Carolina,
[10:44.52]go back to Georgia,
[10:45.88]go back to Louisiana,
[10:47.64]go back to the slums and ghettos
[10:50.15]of our northern cities,
[10:52.80]knowing that somehow
[10:54.17]this situation can and will be changed.
[10:58.20]Let us not wallow in the valley of despair,
[11:01.96]I say to you today, my friends.
[11:15.05]And so even though
[11:16.71]we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow,
[11:21.96]I still have a dream.
[11:25.77]It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
[11:30.61]I have a dream
[11:33.30]that one day this nation will rise up
[11:37.88]and live out the true meaning of its creed:
[11:43.23]hold these truths to be self-evident,
[11:45.37]that all men are created equal.
[11:58.15]I have a dream
[12:01.21]that one day on the red hills of Georgia,
[12:05.77]the sons of former slaves
[12:07.46]and the sons of former slave owners
[12:10.80]will be able to sit down together
[12:13.48]at the table of brotherhood.
[12:15.40]I have a dream
[12:17.71]that one day even the state of Mississippi,
[12:21.76]a state sweltering with the heat of injustice,
[12:29.62]sweltering with the heat of oppression,
[12:32.78]will be transformed into
[12:34.34]an oasis of freedom and justice.
[12:36.79]I have a dream
[12:41.48]that my four little children
[12:45.17]will one day live in a nation
[12:46.90]where they will not be judged
[12:48.52]by the color of their skin
[12:50.06]but by the content of their character.
[12:51.93]I have a dream today!
[13:03.19]I have a dream that one day,
[13:07.35]down in Alabama,
[13:10.67]with its vicious racists,
[13:13.55]with its governor having his lips
[13:16.42]dripping with the words of
[13:17.72]and
[13:20.41]-- one day right there in Alabama
[13:22.41]little black boys and black girls
[13:25.02]will be able to join hands
[13:26.57]with little white boys and white girls
[13:28.73]as sisters and brothers.
[13:29.87]I have a dream today!
[13:39.38]I have a dream that one day
[13:41.49]every valley shall be exalted,
[13:44.44]and every hill and mountain shall be made low,
[13:46.66]the rough places will be made plain,
[13:48.59]and the crooked places will be made straight;
[13:51.36]the glory of the Lord shall be revealed
[13:53.59]and all flesh shall see it together.
[13:57.03]This is our hope,
[13:58.94]and this is the faith
[14:00.09]that I go back to the South with.
[14:02.96]With this faith,
[14:04.85]we will be able to hew out of the mountain
[14:07.20]of despair a stone of hope.
[14:10.35]With this faith,
[14:12.26]we will be able to
[14:13.32]transform the jangling discords of our nation
[14:15.58]into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.
[14:19.69]With this faith,
[14:21.34]we will be able to work together,
[14:23.22]to pray together,
[14:23.94]to struggle together,
[14:25.21]to go to jail together,
[14:27.31]to stand up for freedom together,
[14:29.72]knowing that we will be free one day.
[14:34.59]And this will be the day
[14:37.85]-- this will be the day
[14:39.02]when all of God's children
[14:41.78]will be able to sing with new meaning:
[14:44.42]My country
[14:45.07]'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing'.
[14:50.62]Land where my fathers died,
[14:52.36]land of the Pilgrim's pride,
[14:55.24]From every mountainside,
[14:58.15]let freedom ring!
[14:59.09]And if America is to be a great nation,
[15:01.68]this must become true.
[15:04.12]And so let freedom ring
[15:06.37]from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.
[15:09.51]Let freedom ring
[15:11.50]from the mighty mountains of New York.
[15:13.74]Let freedom ring
[15:15.69]from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.
[15:17.32]Let freedom ring
[15:20.17]from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.
[15:22.60]Let freedom ring
[15:25.19]from the curvaceous slopes of California.
[15:28.28]But not only that:
[15:30.35]Let freedom ring
[15:31.70]from Stone Mountain of Georgia.
[15:35.14]Let freedom ring
[15:36.44]from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.
[15:39.93]Let freedom ring
[15:41.11]from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
[15:44.53]From every mountainside,
[15:48.14]let freedom ring.
[15:49.00]And when this happens,
[15:53.44]when we allow freedom ring,
[15:56.88]when we let it ring
[15:58.22]from every village and every hamlet,
[16:00.32]from every state and every city,
[16:04.11]we will be able to speed up that day
[16:06.95]when all of God's children,
[16:09.05]black men and white men,
[16:10.94]Jews and Gentiles,
[16:12.65]Protestants and Catholics,
[16:14.42]will be able to join hands
[16:16.49]and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
[16:19.62]Free at last!
[16:21.16]free at last!
[16:22.51]Thank God Almighty,
[16:24.01]we are free at last!
