motel
Originally conceived by Billy Méndez and Rodrigo Dávila in 2002, Mexico's Motel had to endure the usual touring of bars and lineup changes before drummer Pepe Damián and bassist Rubén Bridge solidified the band. Demos sent to Warner Bros. Mexico landed them a deal, and in 2006 the infectious single "Dime Ven" introduced their alternative rock-flavored, self-titled debut album. "Dime Ven" went on to earn writer Dávila a 2006 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song, while the entire band was honored when its debut was nominated for Best Rock Album by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
