Diama
Diamá (aka Claudia D’Addio) is an exceptional talent and unafraid to swim against the flow. This might be the best way to describe this Italian, power-voiced singer. Since her debut on a Swiss TV talent-show, conceptually similar to American Idol, she has emerged as one of the most charismatic Swiss personalities. She has already proven her vocal-skills on an international level since she participated as part of the group “Six4One” as Swiss entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 held in Athens (Greece). There she performed alongside “Andreas Lundstedt” of the legendary Dance formation “Alcazar”, Tinka Milinovic a Bosnian Superstar and three other singers form different nationalities. The project was led by renowned German composer/songwriter/producer Ralph Siegel, who is a veteran in the contest. In 2008 she collaborated with “Antonino Spadaccino”, winner of the Italian cult-show “Amici” and delivered a song called “Kick it!” for the compilation “Die besten Fansong (The best Fansongs)” created for the Swiss soccer union by the Swiss newspaper Blick during the 2007 European Soccer Championship held in Switzerland. Effortlessly but full of energy she manages to perform at big events such as; Live Earth Zurich 2006 held at Hallenstation Zurich or the Pirelli Calendar Night. It has been quiet for a while around the sultry singer, but she has been anything but idle. She has used the time to work on some side projects with different producers and to work on her first album. Since her performance at the 2006 Christopher Street Day Switzerland, Claudia has quietly become a Swiss style- and queer-icon. This was confirmed when she was booked as main-act for the 2008 Mr. Gay Finale and for the 2008 Swiss Gay Pride main-concert as opening act for international stars such as House-Legend “Ultra Naté” (“Free”), Superstar “Ari Gold” and Ex-Pornstar-Now-Singer “Colton Ford”- In addition together with Tanja La Croix and Donna Tella alias Alf Heller, she delivered the vocals to the official Christopher Street Day Hymn 2008 called “Pink Riot!”. Her following appearances included the Miss Earth Finale 2009, Mr. Gay Switzerland 2009, DJ K-Skill’s Club-Idol tour and she was a judge at the 2009 Ms. Dragqueen Switzerland finale. June 2009, Claudia performed at the Europride 2009 Main-Stage and is therefore one of the only Swiss singers to ever perform at a Europride Event. She performed on both nights and announced her new artist name “Diamá”; Friday June 5, 2009 when she performed as part of the “Glitzerhaus” DJ-set, since she is lead singer of their single “8 PM” (8 Pick-up Moves) together with Swiss Drag Queen-par excellence Stella Divine and Lady Mata Hari (1/3 of the DJ-Combo Glitzerhaus). On Saturday, June 6, 2009 she performed as Main act followed by artists such as LA Superstar “Guy B.”, Chris Willis main voice for many David Guetta hits, singer & DJ-ane Billie Ray Martin and Italian Superstar Tommy Vee. In her set she performed two songs (“La Mossa” & “Mare”) off her yet untitled debut-album. As a surprise during her set, New York power-voice-diva “Kelly King” entered the stage singing the first notes of Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive” turning it into a duet of “Pink Riot!” with Diamá. 2011 marks an historic moment for Diamá. At the 3rd Artist Charity Night (Biggest Swiss HIV Charity Event) held in Zurich Switzerland, she test-drove two new songs “Drivin’ Tru” and “Calling all Angels” from her upcoming album. Only one week later at the Zurich Pride Festival 2011 she performs alongside Houselegend “Robin S.”. Together they performed “You know how to love me”. After so much work en effort finally her first official album is ready and will be released late 2013 or early 2014. The first single “La Mossa (The Brush-Off)” is out now, available on iTunes and other selected digital music stores worldwide! Diamá is definitely the embodiment of a real diva and still proves that quality is always the first priority when it comes to music.
