Tanya Lacey

Tanya's sound is one that is difficult to catergorise.She has a gorgeous, soulful singing voice but she can then switch to rapping like she was born to be an MC.And then there's the music - from pop to dancehall to rap.It's not a surprise that Tanya's musical influences are so eclectic considering she grew up in Bristol, a city steeped in musical history.The city on England's South-West coast was home to artists ranging from Portishead to Massive Attack as well as having strong hip hop and dance scenes. Tanya, who is of Antiguan/English descent, started her career in a local reggae band as lead singer when she was 16.Tanya learnt her craft during this period getting the opportunity perform at major festivals.
