L'Orange
What do you get when you cross the 1920's with Film Noir and modern hip-hop beats? L'Orange. Inspired by artists ranging from DJ Premier, J Dilla, Pete Rock, Oddisee, Kev Brown to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Roberta Flack, L'Orange's music reflects that influence. His love for the 1920's-1950's eras are sometimes even more evident, however. L'Orange has had the opportunity to feature some notable MCs on his projects, such as, Hassaan Mackey, yU, Kaimbr, Legacy, MindsOne, Seez Mics, Has-Lo, Open Mike Eagle and Stik Figa. He has also featured singers like Erica Lane and Kelsey Lu. L'Orange is a grassroots artist that isn't afraid to be bold, but true to his music and what inspires him. He isn't out to just sell records, especially since he hasn't put a price on one song to date. “I just want to make people feel something that they didn't feel before—something unique and thought provoking,” he says.
