Miri Mesika
以色列三栖女明星 miri was born on the 3rd of may 1978 and raised in herzliya. during elementary school she learned music (guitar and flute), in the local conservatory. in 1994 (a year which miri considers substantial) she was accepted to a theater curriculum in the yovel high school under sofi moskovich management, where she spent the next three years and discovered the stage world and it's important role in her life. in 1996 she drafted to the IDF. since she was not accepted to an army band, she served as an operation sergent in the infantry cor. in 1999 miri started her studies in the music school "Rimon", and at the same time she was accepted to the production which marked the 50 years anniversary to israel, directed by tsedi tsarfati, and music managed by roni vise. during this show, miri performed all over europe, and even though it was her first time in which she performed professionally on stage, miri received the opportunity to perform as the lead singer and instantly captured the hearts of the audience. in 2000, miri went back to "rimon" participated in a course of the singer Ricky Gal, and sang in different musical groups and bands in one of which she met Uri Zach, who later on produced her first album in collaboration with one of the courses teacher-Shmulik Noifeld. in the same year, miri took part in the lucrative competition "Shir Rimon" and performed the song of David Daor "Ima Shel Guy", that was adapted by Uri, and won the first place. in Rimon, miri had met many other singers and musicians, among them Ohad Hitman, and Karen Peles of which miri started to work on her first album's songs. in 2001, miri brought up (independently) a complex show mostly with the songs of Karen Peles. the show, which was produced and adapted by Uri, included the songs "November, and "Le Sham", which were performed for the first time on stage. the initial meeting with the audience was unforgetable. straight after the show, miri was offered a recording contract from the label "Anana" in collaboration with the recording company "Head Artsi". later on miri graduated from the school of arts of sofi moskovich where she had studied acting. she played and sang in the shows "Lel ha Iguana", and the "Hatunat ha Damim" performing leading roles. at the same time she participated as a singer in various events like tribute events to musicians such as "Nurit Zarchin", "Bialik", "Magner", "Natan Yonatan", and more. miri and Uri collaborated to the pianist and adapter Gil Feldman, and to the writer Tsuria Lahav, and together they brought to life an event of Tsuria's songs which took part in the piano festival of tel aviv. in 2004 miri received a part in the renewed production of habima in the musical "Shlomo Ha Melech Ve Shelmay Ha Sandlar" performing the role of "Nofarit" (the mistress of king Soloman). while doing her part in this musical, miri worked with the director Ilan Ronen, the musician Yoni Rechter, and acted side by side with Avi Kushnir, Galit Giat, and many others. the musical won the award of "the musical of the year" 2005 at the ceremony of the theater oscar. in the year 2005 miri's first album was launched and her songs were sent to the radio stations and became great hits. among them "Baa Alechem", "November", "Af Ahat", "Tipa Tipa", and "Le Sham", which also won the title of the song of the year for 2005 in "Gal Galatz". miri was awarded in that radio station as the singer of the year and the discovery of the year. in december 2005 miri's first album was granted a platinum album award after selling over 40,000 copies an unprecedented achievement in the local music industry. the tour of the performances which had started in small clubs moved quickly into full concert halls. in february 2006, miri was awarded as the singer of the year in the ceremony of the israeli music channel. On December 2007 Miri participated in the Festigal and performed several of her songs. At the same period, Miri was entitled "Singer of the year" by Channel 24. These days, Miri is taking part in the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in Habima national theater, and in the television series "Me'orav Yerushalmi". Miri is currently working on her third album and rehearsing for her acoustic tour that will begin on November 2008.
