The Big Secret Sound

 The Big Secret Sound ft Andrew James was founded by Chris Onslow to experiment with different musicians and writers. It's a pleasure and a challenge to be working as part of The Big Secret Sound (TBSS). In the latest project, Chris Onslow and I have teamed up and I've enjoyed putting music and melody to lyrics he has been writing. Chris writes about things he cares for which could be love, life, death or whatever else comes into his undoubtedly complex mind!   Our fist collaboration is 'Soldier On'. This has turned into a very powerful anthem that tells the story of losing a loved one and how they remain in your everyday life wherever you turn. Chris likes to build big, memorable chorus lines which is great to write top line melody for. The chorus ‘I’m still here with you’ is one of those lines that will resonate with anyone that has lost a loved one.   The first track written together with Chris is a ballad,  ‘Secret Dancer’. This a slower song with a great 6/8 feel. Again, the lyrics Chris wrote were about someone special in his life and so the challenge of writing the music felt greater!
