Zion'z
Zion'z was born in 2004, playing covers of Payble on Death. Strongly influenced by the new metal school, bands like Ill Niño, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Linkin Park and many others served as exemples to the band. In 2005 the band started writing and composing and played in several underground festivals in their state Minas Gerais, playing with bands like Saint Spirit (RJ), Arcanjo (DF), The Joke (BH). In 2006, as a independent band Zion'z started reconrding their first album, in the home studio of the guitarrist Doug. In the year 2007 finally the album "Medo" (Fear) was released, featuring many friends. The album was launched in the event "Tribal Fest" in the city of Governador Valadares (MG) openning for the band Trino (SP). In the same year, Benito was invited the be part of the album from the band "Os Capiau", concepted in the national hardcore scene. The disk featured an ad in the national magazine "Extreme Brutal Death". In 2008, Roadie Crew magazine brought an article about the work of Douglas on his producing and recording specially for the band Chainsaw Disaster, and other works for bands like The Imperial Betrayer, Saggra, Zion'z and others. In the same year, the band P.O.D. had their first South American tour, playing in Brazil, where Benito sang a song with the american band. He also recorded his first solo project, called "Ponto de Vista (point of view)". In 2009 the band entered the studio once again to record their second album "Hope of a New Day", also in a home studio, sounding more like their roots. The album features great names of the brazilian music, like Luiz Caldas, one of the biggest names of brazilian popular music. Also Drew (Chainsaw Disaster) and Nilmar (Os Capiau) and Vivien Tomasello are on the record. In the same year, the band scored third place in the biggest festival of their home region, called Jovens Bandas, that was headlined by the band Strike. Finishing the year, the band released their first video from the song "Hello Again", launched in a web radio from Colombia, and also Uruguay. Featuring also an article in the colombian magazine "Nu Metal Style", strong in south american underground. In 2010 the band releases their second album "Hope of a New Day" and starts the year ready to play in the biggest festival from the state of Goiás, the "Loading Music Festival", with P.O.D., band that strongly influenced Zion'z to do what they're doing, and also Dead Fish, and several other names from the brazilian underground.
