Marz Lovejoy
Angel; the name her mother gave her on her birthday April 28, 1991. Marria was name she bore until high school when Marz was adopted. Marz, like Angel, was strangely appropriate as this child was clearly out of this and not of this world. Although, firmly planted on earth, everything about her reached for something beyond the sky. Born in Minnesota to a set of hustlers who were street, worldly, thug yet refined with character, principles and common sense. When those attributes fused with heart, savoir-faire, and leadership skills, created the perfect realm for Marz, who instinctively sought more than mediocrity to flourish. She began her journey at two, when she and her mother relocated to California. The repetitive phase, "Don't tell me no, tell me yes," demandingly flew from her lips. At three, her mother was called in to the posh Del Mar Hills daycare office because the staff was concerned about her rebellious attire. Marz had been given the freedom to dress herself and apparently the staff preferred white tights and spit shined paten leather shoes to a princess cape turned thigh flashing mini skirt and belly bearing mid drifts. By the time she turned five, Marz' career as a successful model was launched, booking numerous print jobs and ad campaigns such as Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie, Tommy Hilfiger and GAP as well as national commercials KFC and Hometown Buffet. Her beauty, penchant for style and natural acting abilities would eventually lead her to Hollywood. Marz, as a teen attempting to find her path, took up failing grades, street fighting and God knows what else. Her mother quickly plucked her from that surrounding. They found solace in Santa Monica and her journey continued. Los Angeles soon became familiar stomping grounds for the adventurous young maverick. From Beverly hills to Compton friendships were solidified, respect was given and the life experiences needed for her poetry, rap lyrics and writing were captured. The artistry within began to take flight. She and fellow artist, Polyester (Poly), are teaming up! She is extremely busy... surprises await her fans as she is set to drop her first EP entitled, This Little Light of Mine, through ihiphop Distribution in November 2010!! The same label that re-launched Wiz Khalifa.Marz has a distinctive voice and a funky, hip youthful style that strays away from anything resembling common. Her plethora of tats are as meaningful, as the choices she makes, the company she keeps and lyrics she writes. From the onset, arts and entertainment were her destiny; and "Don't tell me no, tell me yes", her life motto. Please watch her journey continue and support Marz as she takes her rightful place amongst the stars.
