The Globetroddas

With over 1 million YOUTUBE views and thousands of downloads worldwide, many would say that THE GLOBETRODDAS are one of the greatest Hip Hop collectives that never really emerged. The California-based group consisting of Chuck Boogie, Drak, Fau (Foe) and Derrick “Disco” Buck is not the typical “west coast” sound. The influences of their music range from soul to Jazz to rock and many other genres in between, Hip Hop being the driving force. The group came together officially in 2003, after hearing and admiring each other’s talent and prior demos they decided to cut a few tracks together. The first song they recorded, “LOVE” was first released on Kajmere sounds and would be their most critically acclaimed track to this date. Where the majority of hip hop artists talk mainly about celebrating success, The GLOBETRODDAS keep their lyrical content gravitated towards universal peace and awareness. Derrick Buck, lead vocalist of the group stated, “The vibe that we want to send to our listeners primarily is one to make people feel good, and create thought provoking compositions.” They’ve received high approbation from the likes of Legendary emcee KRS-ONE, to shining new comer CASEY VEGGIES, and have performed in hot spots throughout Los Angeles. The ultimate goal for The Globetroddas is to bring their music to a much broader audience and be a positive and strong alternative in the music industry. They are currently working on an album (untitled) and have an EP, “THE LOVE EP” available now.
