Janine
Born in Birmingham, England in 1971, Janine was introduced to black music genres such as reggae, soul and funk from birth by her creole-mauritian father. This musical influence sparked a passion for singing and songwriting. At the age of 16, she began writing and performing with bands around the East of England. This led to her composing and performing with independent soul label " Wildcat records". After performing at various soul weekenders, she went on to record with London based reggae label, "Jetstar" She worked briefly with Amii Stewarts producer, before going on to record her own songs with members and producers of 80's bands " Johnny Hates Jazz" and " Katrina and the waves". Since being in Spain, she has performed with several funk groups and has collaborated with various rap artists and hip-hop producers. After meeting Sace 2, she went on to write and record two tracks, " Tell me are you ready" and " A night to remember" for his album " Adventures in sound and space"." Tell me are you ready" was included in the " Battle of the year 2009" soundtrack and was then remixed by city Beat records in Germany. " A night to Remember" made it into the "Streetsounds" top 10 chart.
