Cygnosic
Cygnosic is a Greek solo-project operating from Athens. A first album “In The Lag Of Time” was self-released in 2007, but here comes the official debut of this promising project. “A Deity In Pain” brings a punching electro album full dark elements reminding to early Klinik and the debut of In Strict Confidence. Some of the songs will maybe appeal fans of decoded Feedback as well. But more than being a simple clone, Cygnosic excels in very own ideas and constellations. The music sounds mature, powerful and is spiced up with some background technoid elements. The vocals of Georg Psaroudakis are spooky and distorted creating a cold sensation. The vocals aren’t however the main ingredient on this album. Several cuts are instrumentals where cool and efficient samplings take the main part. “A Deity In Pain” is a danceable opus with not one single song to throw away. Cygnosic reveals an unusual maturity in sound and song writing resulting in an impressive arsenal of essential songs. From the tracklist featuring 11 songs I’ll mention “Throw Away My Dust”, “Neva55”, “One O Two”, “As Far As We Can Go”, “In The Lag Of Time”, “Luna Obscura” and especially its “Chaotic Mix”, “To Spread The Chaos” and finally “Zero Tolerance”. This is an amount of 9 (!) songs, which simply confirms the high potential of this album. Cygnosic doesn’t compose the most cliché-like dark electronic or the most accessible sound in its style, but it’s definitely a great piece of art!
