Jez Dior
Hip-Hop soloist Jez Dior is getting ready for something big. In early June 2013, Dior released “Move On”, the 4th single off of his forthcoming Album Scarle†† Sage. The song’s video premiered along with a free download of the track on various hip-hop websites and blogs, most notably HipHopDX and VIBE. This is Dior’s fourth single release, and fourth consecutive song to reach the top 10 on TheHypeMachine (hypem.com). His first two releases (“Candles” and “Love Me To Death”) both reached the #1 spot on the ever-popular music blog, bringing a flood of attention to the young LA-based Artist. It has been just over eight months since the 20-year-old Jez began releasing material in anticipation of his Album Scarle†† Sage, and his reputation is being bolstered by the rapid growth of his online-footprint. MTV Iggy hails him as “the real thing of 2013″, and Hypetrak says his music is “the kind of new tunes [they’ve] been waiting for.” Such dialogue is why his YouTube views are rapidly moving toward the half a million mark. Jez has a musician’s pedigree, as he is the son of legendary punk-rock guitarist Steve Dior of Sex Pistols fame, and longtime friend of Sid Viscous. The twenty-year-old fashion connoisseur and avid soccer player draws much of his musical inspirations from Artists like Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and Kanye West. When not working on his art, Dior is searching for new clothing trends and developing his signature look. Jez’s family life and relationship with his father have been important aspects in his musical development. The content of his music is driven by the experiences and struggles he has endured throughout his life, from the early deaths of relatives due to Cancer and Suicide, to coping with the effects of family members struggling with addiction. By taking the feelings and images that stir within him, Jez creates a world in which his every emotion is put on display and shapes the flow of the music. With that, it’s no surprise listeners continuously point to his lyrical depth and versatility in songwriting. During a difficult time early in Jez’s life, his cousin gave him a copy of Eminem’s album “The Eminem Show”, which was what spawned his love of rapping. In 2012, after a few years of working with a band, Dior decided to begin a solo project shortly after befriending Producer Danny Score. Since meeting, the two have become best friends, and have created a strong musical partnership, collaborating on every song from the forthcoming Album. Dior’s album Scarle†† Sage was released June 12, 2013 and he is back in the studio working on his next project.
