Don Harriss
by Linda KohanovThis keyboardist and computer whiz has derived his unique sound from a diverse background that includes classical training,'60s Haight-Ashbury psychedelia, stints of touring and recording with rock idol Pat Travers, and jobs composing corporate film soundtracks. Though he lapses into glitzy pop triteness on occasion, he is light-years ahead of most adult contemporary synthesists in his sophisticated use of texture and sound. He has several albums on the market that did well on new adult contemporary radio, including Shell Game, Vanishing Point, and Elevations, but his best release by far is Abacus Moon.
