Terry Wollman’s guitar playing, writing, and production take us on a heartfelt musical journey influenced by his travels around the world. In his usual style, he once again brings together an all star band including John (JR) Robinson, Abraham Laboriel, Luis Conte, Greg Manning, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, Keb’ Mo’, Melanie Taylor and Melissa Manchester. He adds to the beauty of this recording with three string quartet arrangements recorded at the world renowned Capitol Studio. AN ACCOMPLISHED and versatile producer, composer, and musician, Terry has commanded such diverse projects touring, recording and performing as music director and/or guitarist for dozens of renowned artists including Billy Preston, The 5th Dimension, Wilson Phillips, Al Jarreau, Joan Baez, Joe Walsh, Keb’ Mo’, Gerald Albright and Eartha Kitt, to name just a few. ORIGINALLY FROM MIAMI, Terry was formally educated in Boston, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arranging from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. After arriving in Los Angeles, Terry built a solid reputation as an in-demand session guitarist and producer. His music styles range from jazz to pop, rock, blues, R&B and beyond. TERRY’S DEBUT RECORDING, “Bimini”, a contemporary jazz collection received worldwide critical acclaim. This is a breakthrough work filled with passionate melodies and sensual, funky grooves supported by an all star cast of world-class musicians, including Joe Sample, Abraham Laboriel, Dean Parks, Paulinho Da Costa, and the Tower of Power horns. HIS SECOND ALBUM, “Say Yes,” was extremely well received in large part due to his eclectic musical choices and an incredible array of guest artists such as Joe Sample, Abraham Laboriel, John Robinson, Luis Conte and Michael McDonald interpreting Terry’s sonic vision. MOVING INTO THE POP WORLD Terry co-wrote and produced a high-energy dance record for the supergroup Baila, entitled “Shall We Dance?”. Reaching back to old-school disco and funk, this record sizzles with a diverse collection of dance songs that create an infectious groove. With talented musicians bridging the pop, funk, electronica and dance worlds, Baila includes Terry on electric guitar, Jonathan “Sugarfoot” Moffett, Marc Hugenberger, Vail Johnson, and The Vine Street Horns, with Amy Keys and Ellis Hall on vocals. TERRY WAS COMMISSIONED to produce and co-write the uniquely themed “Sleep Suite”, designed to encourage a great night’s sleep for all. He teamed up with Integrative Medicine specialist Dr. Glenn Wollman to create this relaxing mix of Native American flute, guitars, didgeridoo, crystal bowls, and distant gongs… creating a healing musical collaboration between the arts and sciences. Terry’s TV engagements include stints on “Scrubs”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, FOX TV’s “Late Show”, “The Byron Allen Show”, “The Arsenio Hall Show” and “Married With Children”. Among his acting credits are appearances on “Desperate Housewives”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, “Cavemen” and “Dirty Sexy Money”.
