Peggy Mann
From the moment seven year old Peggy Mann hit the stage, stood on her head and sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" to compete in her first talent show, she knew the stage was where she belonged. Peggy has been performing in Colorado for more than twenty five years in various combinations from a solo act to a six-piece band. She began her song-writing with the song "Fantasies" which appears on her debut CD "Tenderness". Her singing credits include over 250 commercials including a commercial for the Denver-based American Furniture Warehouse that ran for 13 years! She also recorded the campaign song for Gary Hart's Senatorial bid. Growing up in a western suburb of Chicago, Peggy started performing in elementary school and continued to perform through high school and college in community musical theater productions, playing the leads in shows such as "Bye Bye Birdie", "The Sound of Music", and "Annie Get Your Gun." She also literally sang for her supper as she played the supper club circuit in the quad city area. As a young woman, Peggy began to feel drawn to the West but didn't want to leave the opportunities of Chicago. The pivotal move moment came when she competed in her hometown preliminary pageant that led up to the Miss America title. She decided that if she won she’d stay in Illinois and continue on, but if she didn't, she'd move to Denver. Fortunately for the local music scene she was crowned 1st runner up and "Miss Congeniality". Upon the moving to Colorado Peggy began writing songs and performing in earnest. She captured local attention and interest by winning a top 10 spot in the Colorado Composers Classic Competition with her song "Never Seen a Love Going Wrong." Since then she has been packing houses playing Denver's mountain resorts, and opening for national acts such as Nanci Griffith at the Utah resort, Snowbird. Peggy has also played at Swallow Hill and The Soiled Dove. Both are long time performing venues in Denver. She has a tremendously loyal following. It’s always sure to be a packed night! Peggy entered a New York based songwriting competition in May of 2000 and won first place for her song "undercover" which is on her “Tenderness” CD. Peggy along with performing in the mountain towns of Colorado, travels wherever the music takes her to perform which are often private house concerts. This is where her audience really gets to hear the back stories of her songs and connect with her music on a very personal level. Don’t miss a chance to have her perform at your home or for your event. Her most recent song “A Mother’s Prayer” also known as “Stand On Your Own” can be viewed on this website as well as on You Tube and has been performed at many veteran’s events. She is proud to support our nation’s military ! She is also a two-time performer of the National Anthem for the Colorado Rockies. Peggy just completed her 7th CD called “Don’t Waste Time” due to be released summer 2014. She recorded this record in Nashville with award-winning world reknowned producer and singer-songwriter Monty Powell. Monty has penned songs with Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts just to name a few! He is a Golden Globe nominee and He thinks Peggy’s artistry and song writing is perfectly positioned for where Nashville is headed right now!!! Young and old alike, people just plain love the fact that Peggy “sings” it like it is. There’s no wondering where she stands or what she stands for ! Don’t miss an opportunity to check in with your heart, because that is what Peggy does best. She’ll make you laugh, cry and everything in between. When you leave her of her shows you will feel like you know her, but more importantly that she knows you too !
