LANKS is the enigmatic solo project of Melbourne musician, Will Cuming. It is a mature new project that has allowed him to play freely with traditional folk storytelling within a modern framework; taking parts from Radiohead’s intricate grooves, Bon Iver’s vocal layering and Jamie XX’s famed dead space. In 2014 LANKS has dropped his debut EP, Thousand Piece Puzzle, played BIGSOUND, supported the likes of The Acid, Broods, and The Griswolds, and received strong support from radio stations Fbi, Triple J and PBS. His debut EP is a collection of songs that rises and falls in pictures and words, a project that combines cinematic soundscapes with electronic beats and evocative vocal narratives. He has recently dropped the first follow-up single after the EP, Brave Man, offering a more refined sound, contrasting atmospheric synths with percussive guitars, and glitchy electronic drums with his distinctly laconic, effortless vocals.
