She is the niece of Czech singer and actress Helena Vondráčková. She played in Czech Lion award-winning film Snowboarďáci. She also gained considerable fame as a pop-singer in the Czech Republic especially for her song Strach. Lucie Vondráčková comes from a musical family. Her father Jirí Vondrácek is a famous Czech actor, singer, bassist and pianist, while her mother, Hana Sorrosová, is a lyricist and translator. She has Ecuadorian roots via a maternal grandfather. Lucie attended primary school in Prague. She studied music and drama at the Prague Conservatory, and has successfully completed the study of culture studies, with a Master of Arts degree. She earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 2006. On June 17, 2011, she married Czech International hockey player Tomas Plekanec who plays center for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League. The couple has a son named Matyas.
