BUDD
BUDD – If you don’t already know the name then you’ll almost certainly know the music. Chris Budd might already have a string of aliases and achievements, yet the relentless hype from dance floors and DJs worldwide is proving that the powerhouse productions coming from his BUDD persona are the work of a man who is truly at the top of his game. Never one for gratuitous theatrics, BUDD has spent years in the shadows; ghost-writing for industry heavyweights, performing live percussion at iconic venues like Pacha, Space, Cocoon and Ministry of Sound, and tirelessly developing a sound that has already attracted supporters from all corners of the music industry – from house legends Masters At Work and Roger Sanchez, to techno pioneers Dubfire and Luciano. Also championed by Dance powerhouse Faithless and Mark Knight, whose Toolroom imprint was the home to his debut artist album “New Direction”, released under his “chrisB” alias, BUDD is now in a position to let his formidable productions talk for him. Taking a journey through everything from chill out and deep house, to his more aggressive, tech-inspired progressive house, BUDD’s melody-driven productions are technically watertight, underpinned by powerful vocals. With a definite aversion to paint-by-numbers, genre music, Chris is adamant that the song must always come first. BUDD is the inimitable vision of a man who has nailed his own sound, from in your face, to melancholy and understated – his music demands to be listened to. Leaving nothing to chance, Chris has been tied to the studio, feverishly working on a new artist album and, for the first time in his career, plans to step away from the drum kit and into the DJ booth with an all-new live show. Ready to tour extensively, there seems to be no let-up for one of the hardest working musicians in the industry.
